Manager Cooper handles the day-to-day operations of Clockwork. Always the first in and last out of the factory, he’s the company’s pride and joy; performing well, handles his team effectively and is, overall, an honest hard worker.
Cooper’s comfortable routine is broken, however, by the arrival of a new hire and old friend, Nellie. Her presence gradually stirs up unwanted memories and skeletons long buried by Cooper, and, as a result, Cooper constantly rebuffs her efforts to catch up on old times.
As Nellie reveals more of his misdeeds, Cooper resorts to the same underhand tactics that he’d once discarded to maintain his image whilst tearing down Nellie’s. As a result, Nellie is ostracised but conflict also arises within the whole team.
Throughout this, Cooper has been suffering from nightmares and hallucinations, which become progressively worse. While he tries to atone for his past, he finds that he cannot outrun it.
